Business Applications

Replace paper route cards with live production data.

Shop-floor applications that put works orders, drawings and test templates in operators' hands, and capture every operation, result and minute of labour as it happens.

The problem

The most useful data is still on paper.

Route cards travel with the job, operators stamp and sign each step, and test results are written by hand. Only part of that information ever reaches the ERP.

The rest is scanned and filed, so the data you could use for reliability analysis, trending and accurate costing is effectively lost. Finding a job means walking the shop floor, and labour is often booked at the end of the day from memory.

01 / What the application can do

Everything at the operator's fingertips.

Digital works orders

Live jobs with routings and operation steps, replacing printed route cards.

Start, pause, stop

Operators book on and off operations by barcode, so time is captured as it happens.

Digital sign-off

A digital stamp records who completed each operation, and when.

Tests and faults

Electronic test templates, serial numbers, fault logging and past results.

Drawings and standards

Technical drawings, quality standards and engineering documents on screen.

Kit picking

Pick components for jobs and print labels with the date, time and goods received reference.

02 / ATEC Engineering Solutions

A smarter factory for safety-critical work.

ATEC repairs and supports engineering products for safety-critical environments, where every step must be documented. We've supported their ERP for many years.

We worked with ATEC on-site and remotely to look at the process with fresh eyes, then built a bespoke OneApp running on touch-screen Windows laptops. Operators now work from digital works orders; the app shows where each job is, who's working on it and which components have been replaced. Background scheduling prioritises works orders by due date and routing, and accurate time capture lets ATEC compare actual manufacturing times against those in the system.

03 / Towards a connected factory

Production data you can act on.

Once data is captured digitally, it can do more than replace paper. Live information on job progress lets you reschedule on the fly, and the history you build up supports quality analysis and more accurate planning.

Where machines, sensors or other shop-floor systems can provide data, we can talk about bringing it together with operator input for production flow monitoring and quality insight, connected to your ERP and planning tools.

How it's built

  • Bespoke to your process, using our OneApp framework, not an off-the-shelf app.
  • Tablets, touch-screen laptops or other devices, chosen per solution.
  • Connected to your ERP through OneGateway for fast, secure access.
  • Works alongside time and labour recording.
